Frequently Asked Questions
Can I share this program with a friend I know who is getting married?
No. We ask our couples to sign an agreement that the intended use is for couples who have booked our services. The use or shared access to anyone other than the names on the sales order contract is prohibited and violates intellectual property laws. Aside from violation, we’ve worked really hard to bring our couples a unique shopping experience and believe that it should only be available to couples who have chosen us as their cake maker.
I’ve completed the registration and would like to change my password, can i do that?
Absolutely. Once you’ve logged in, click on the user icon and select PROFILE. There you’ll be able to update/change your password.
Is there a difference between round or square?
Our online designer program renders a flat cake image to allow couples to view the final design as either a round or square tiered cake. Upon finalizing the order, please indicate which shape is preferred.
Can I choose another shape other than round & square? ie. Hexagonal, Petal?
No. Although we do offer other shapes outside of round & square in our current I Do! Collection,, they are not offered as an option for the online cake designer at this time.
I’ve noticed some cake designs that have a 1” - 2” separator between tiers, or tiers with extra height, can I add these options to the design?
Yes & No. These options are not available at this time as they would add additional cost to the order. If this option is something you would like to add, please send us an email or give us a call to discuss and a member of our staff would be more than happy to provide you with the different options.
Are there other tier design options other than the ones I see online?
At I Do! Wedding Cakes, we always strive to provide the most current design trends. If there is something that you would like to include in your design but don’t see as an option, please email us your request and we’ll try our best to accommodate the design request.
I’ve designed my dream wedding cake, what are the next steps in the order process?
Once you’ve settled on the design you would like for your big day, the next step is to download the design onto your desktop and email us a copy of the image. You can then finalize the order via email, over the phone or visit us at anyone of our scheduled open houses. I’ve logged into the program, where do I start?
We suggest the following:
The first thing you need to do is choose your cake size. You’ll have a choice that coincides with our standard I Do! Collection sizing and pricing. Ie. 2 tiers, 3 tiers, 4 tiers, 5 tiers.
After you’ve settled on the number of tiers, it’s best to design your cake by category: ie. Colour, Design, Trim, Accents. This is the order we work with at the shop when designing cakes and can make it less overwhelming.
TIP: Ensure that the correct Tier is selected prior to choosing design elements. On the left side nav, you’ll see options for Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, etc.
How do I choose my desired fondant colour?
Ensure that the right Tier has been selected and click on COLOUR. You’ll now have 2 options:
For Solid colours, click on the white box with the arrow that will open the colour selector. Proceed with selecting the colour of choice for tier.
For Gradient colours, you’ll have a choice of 2 colours to achieve a gradient effect. This effect can be seen in many of our cakes where the cake tier ombre’s in colour from dark to light or by adding metallic gold/silver/copper etc.
I’ve seen cakes that have a marbled look or glitter texture, how can I achieve this effect?
We have a marble option as well as a glitter option that can be found under DESIGN > Textures & Shapes. You’ll be able to choose the colours under the design section, however for the glitter effect, you’ll need to choose the colour first.
TIP: The colour selector will save your last colour choice. If moving from Tier 1 to Tier 2 and you would like the same colour choice, open the colour selector and you’ll notice that the same swatch appears. Click the button to choose.
TIP: You can also copy and paste the hex code (#000000) anytime you want to replicate the same shade.
I’ve chosen a design for the tier, but I’ve changed my mind and would prefer the tier to be plain. How do I change the effect?
You can easily remove the design element by clicking the grey REMOVE button found on the top right hand side.
Can designs have multiple colour choices?
Some design elements do have multple colour choices. Simply click on the button Swatch 1, Swatch 2 etc. and make your colour selections.
I’ve chosen to include a monogram plaque, how do I request specific initials?
When you email us your cake design, please include your request for specific initials and in which order you would like them to appear. If you have custom monograms that you would like to incorporate, please email us your requests as well as include an electronic image, ie. jpg version and we can best advise.
I’ve chosen flowers under ACCENTS, why do my white flowers appear to have grey in the middle?
We’ve styled our flowers to appear to have different shades of one colour hue. If white or ivory is the desired colour shade, there will be no grey in the final product, rather, the flower will appear to be white or cream all the way through.
How do I achieve a cascade look where the flowers drape in a diagonal form from top to bottom?
We’ve provide different options for our florals ie. Top left, bottom left, top right, bottom right. These different options indicate where the floral arrangement will sit on the tiers. You also have the option to further move the position by click the grey buttons: LEFT, CENTRE, RIGHT. By combining these different option, you can achieve the look of the cascade, loose or full.
I want to have a bow with a matching colour sash, how can I achieve this look?
